President Trump on Tuesday blasted Democratic congressional candidate Jon Ossoff and urged Republicans to get out and vote in the Georgia special election.

"Democrat Jon Ossoff would be a disaster in Congress. VERY weak on crime and illegal immigration, bad for jobs and wants higher taxes. Say NO," the president tweeted early Tuesday morning.

"Republicans must get out today and VOTE in Georgia 6. Force runoff and easy win! Dem Ossoff will raise your taxes-very bad on crime & 2nd A."

The president in recent days has been tweeting about Tuesday's election in Georgia to fill the seat vacated by Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price.

Early Monday, Trump called Ossoff a "super liberal" in a tweet. Later in the day, he recorded a robocall calling on voters to help defeat Ossoff, who is leading polls with about 43 percent support, according to a Huffington Post poll last updated on Saturday.

Georgia is holding an all-party special election in which any candidate can win the seat outright be receiving more than 50 percent of the vote. If no candidate reaches the threshold, there will be a runoff between the top two finishers in June.

Democrats, who are seeking to turn the GOP seat, have framed the race as a referendum against Trump and the policies of his administration.
