Vice President Pence is giving a speech in Louisiana on Wednesday, according to his official schedule released by the White House.

Pence's schedule says he will discuss healthcare, jobs and the economy during “formal remarks to the Baton Rouge community" at a Cajun Industries event in Port Allen, La., just outside Baton Rouge.

Politico reported that an advisory from the Louisiana GOP described the event as a rally, and the state GOP chairman said it was being held at a warehouse that could host "a few hundred people."

“[It’s] not really a political rally as much as it is a rally for jobs and businesses,” Louisiana GOP Chairman Roger Villere said, adding that Pence's office was organizing the event.

Bo Staples, the Louisiana GOP’s executive director, said that the party is “providing volunteers and turning out a crowd."

Staples added that Wednesday’s event, which also includes a roundtable with small-business leaders, is largely being managed by Pence’s team.

Politico reported that Pence is expected to fly to the event on Air Force Two alongside Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) and Rep. Garret Graves (R-La.), the local congressman.

The Louisiana GOP told Politico that other members of the congressional delegation and Republican state officials have been invited, but it is unclear whether they will attend.
