Vice President Pence visited Dominoes Park in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood Friday afternoon on the way to the policy event where President Trump will deliver remarks outlining new U.S. policies on Cuba.

Pence tweeted pictures of his meeting with locals in the neighborhood hotspot, where former Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart (R-Fl.) introduced him informally to the domino players and attendees.

“I need to come back on a sunny day and play some dominoes,” Pence said.

One reporter asked Pence if he had ever been to Little Havana before. “I have,” he said, "but never here to dominoes. I have to come back when it’s a little drier and I have more time.”

Many took pictures with vice president. Some expressed their support for Pence and President Trump, shouting, “Viva Trump! Viva Trump!”

Pence also responded to questions about his hiring of an outside counsel regarding the Russia probe into the 2016 election, calling it “very routine.”

Diaz-Balart said that the vice president’s visit to Little Havana was “a very gracious and appreciated gesture.”
