Trump touts agenda ‘despite the distraction of the Witch Hunt’

President Trump early Sunday touted progress on his agenda, despite the “distraction” of what he called a “witch hunt.”

“The MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN agenda is doing very well despite the distraction of the Witch Hunt. Many new jobs, high business enthusiasm,..” he said on Twitter, adding in a subsequent tweet: “…massive regulation cuts, 36 new legislative bills signed, great new S.C.Justice, and Infrastructure, Healthcare and Tax Cuts in works!”

{mosads}Trump on Sunday also pointed to his 50 percent approval rating in a Rasmussen daily tracking poll, which has been an outlier since he took office.

Trump has used the term “witch hunt” several times in the past week to describe the investigation into Russian meddling in the presidential election and possible collusion between his campaign and Moscow.

“I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director! Witch Hunt,” he tweeted last Friday, referring to former FBI Director James Comey and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

“Despite the phony Witch Hunt going on in America, the economic & jobs numbers are great. Regulations way down, jobs and enthusiasm way up!” he also said in a tweet that day.

One day earlier, the president said Americans are witnessing the “single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history,” adding that it is being “led by some very bad and conflicted people!”
