The Times on Saturday reported that Trump Jr. arranged a meeting with the lawyer at Trump Tower several weeks after his father secured the Republican presidential nomination.

In a statement to the Times, Trump Jr. confirmed that he had met with the lawyer at the request of an acquaintance but denied that he received any information on Clinton.

He said she brought up Clinton and the Democratic National Committee, but: “Her statements were vague, ambiguous and made no sense. No details or supporting information was provided or even offered. It quickly became clear that she had no meaningful information.”
