Nearly one-quarter of voters who backed both President Trump in 2016 and former President Obama in 2012 say they disapprove of Trump's job performance, according to a new poll released Wednesday.
A survey by Democracy Fund Voter Study Group found that 22 percent of those who voted for both Obama and Trump disapprove of the current president. In comparison, just nine percent of all Trump voters disapprove of him.
Seventy percent of Obama-Trump voters approve of Trump's job performance, compared to 88 percent of all Trump backers.
The poll found that 16 percent of those who voted for Obama in 2012 and then for Trump in 2016 regret voting for Trump. Six percent of all Trump voters said the same.
Overall, Trump has a 42 percent approval rating and 54 percent disapproval in the poll.
The survey was conducted in July among 5,000 Americans. It included people who have previously been interviewed in 2011, 2012 and 2016.
