Trump to address RNC members at meeting at Trump hotel: report

President Trump will reportedly address members of the Republican National Committee (RNC) next week at his hotel in Washington, D.C.

A GOP source briefed on the plans told Politico that Trump will speak to RNC members next Thursday at the Trump International Hotel ahead of the group’s annual meeting next weekend at a nearby hotel.

Vice President Pence will also reportedly address RNC members at a lunch on Thursday, though it is unclear from Politico’s report if he will also speak at the Trump hotel.

{mosads}Trump handed control of the Trump Organization to his adult sons when he took office, but critics and ethics experts have questioned whether his ownership of the D.C. hotel might prompt foreign leaders to stay there in order to curry favor with the Trump administration.

Trump has spent a significant portion of his time as president at his own properties, racking up high security costs at taxpayer expense. The Secret Service reportedly paid tens of thousands of dollars over several months for hotel costs at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla., raising further ethics concerns.

Trump-appointed Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch faced tough scrutiny last year when he addressed a conservative group at the Trump International Hotel in D.C.
