Protesters hang ‘Trump not welcome’ banner on side of Swiss mountain

Protesters placed a banner that says President Trump is “not welcome” on the side of a Swiss mountain to coincide with the president’s arrival there Thursday.
Trump arrived early Thursday in Davos, Switzerland, to attend the World Economic Forum.
The Swiss group Campax posted the banner — which says “Trump not welcome!” — on the side of a mountain near Sargans. Campax is a group of independent activists who say they are working toward “a fair and green economy and for a society that is founded on solidarity and compassion.”

The group criticized Trump, saying he “stands for racism, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, sexism, hostility towards women, warfare, denial of climate change, attacks on human rights and a policy that deepens poverty and inequality.”
Trump said he will bring a message of “peace and prosperity” to the forum. He is the first sitting president to attend the summit in Davos since former President Clinton attended in 2000.
