"Mrs. Trump intends to pay her respects to Barbara Bush and the entire family at the funeral on Saturday," Trump's communications director, Stephanie Grisham, confirmed to The Hill on Wednesday.

Bush — the wife of former President George H.W. Bush — died a few days after she had decided against seeking additional medical treatment, instead focusing on comfort care.

Bush had been in and out of the hospital for the past year.

Trump will follow in the tradition of other first ladies paying their respects to their counterparts. Bush's funeral will be held at St. Martin’s Church in Houston on Saturday, and, according to CNN, will be a simple service.

The burial will be private, but the public will be able to pay their respects at the church during visitation to the former first lady’s repose on Friday, CNN reported.
