Trump: Mueller team will be meddling in midterms

President TrumpDonald TrumpTrump announces new social media network called 'TRUTH Social' Virginia State Police investigating death threat against McAuliffe Meadows hires former deputy AG to represent him in Jan. 6 probe: report MORE suggested on Tuesday that special counsel Robert MuellerRobert (Bob) MuellerSenate Democrats urge Garland not to fight court order to release Trump obstruction memo Why a special counsel is guaranteed if Biden chooses Yates, Cuomo or Jones as AG Barr taps attorney investigating Russia probe origins as special counsel MORE's team of investigators is planning to meddle in this year's midterm elections and urged Republican lawmakers to "stay tough" in the coming months.

"The 13 Angry Democrats (plus people who worked 8 years for Obama) working on the rigged Russia Witch Hunt, will be MEDDLING with the mid-term elections, especially now that Republicans (stay tough!) are taking the lead in Polls," Trump tweeted.

"There was no Collusion, except by the Democrats!" he added.

Trump's tweet is the latest in a series of posts lashing out at investigators — whom he has dubbed the "13 Angry Democrats" — examining possible collusion between his presidential campaign and Russia in the 2016 election.

Trump has repeatedly insisted that the special counsel investigation and those working on it are biased against him and that the probe amounts to a partisan effort to undermine and discredit his presidency.

He has also repeatedly asserted that his former Democratic opponent, Hillary ClintonHillary Diane Rodham ClintonMeghan McCain: 'SNL' parodies made me feel like 'laughing stock of the country' Hill: Trump reelection would spur 'one constitutional crisis after another' Trump defends indicted GOP congressman MORE, should be under investigation instead of him — a claim he repeated in another Tuesday morning tweet.

"Why aren’t the 13 Angry and heavily conflicted Democrats investigating the totally Crooked Campaign of totally Crooked Hillary Clinton," Trump tweeted. "It’s a Rigged Witch Hunt, that’s why! Ask them if they enjoyed her after election celebration!"

Trump in recent weeks has also focused on a claim that the FBI planted a mole in his presidential campaign in 2016.

An FBI informant did meet with three of his campaign advisers in the early months of the counter-intelligence investigation into Russian meddling in the presidential race. However, no evidence has surfaced to suggest that the FBI improperly spied on his campaign.

Trump also tweeted a quote from conservative commentator Mollie Hemingway on Tuesday morning, in which she suggested misconduct on the part of federal law enforcement officials.
