Trump repeatedly praises 'CBC' at event honoring Customs and Border Protection

While speaking about the sacrifices that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol agents make, Trump continually referred to CBP as "CBC," a common acronym for the Congressional Black Caucus.

"I want to thank a true and loyal friend of ICE and CBC, Mike PenceMichael (Mike) Richard PencePence going to Colombia to demand Maduro step down Grenell: Push to decriminalize homosexuality 'wildly supported' by both parties Marc Short to return to White House as Pence’s chief of staff MORE," Trump said at one point during the "Salute to the Heroes" event. 

He later said that "the extremists who attack ICE and CBC like to portray themselves as champions of social justice. They are not."

Multiple reporters took to Twitter to note the mistake. Bloomberg's White House reporter, Jennifer Jacobs, also tweeted that the teleprompter Trump was reading from referred to the organization as CBP. 
The speech came during an event in which the Trump administration honored multiple ICE and Border Patrol agents for their efforts in combating illegal immigration and crime. 
 
Trump, whom Democrats frequently attack over his hard-line immigration policies, on Monday also sent a letter to state and local officials imploring them to praise immigration agents for the sacrifices they have made.
