Ford's lawyer: Hearing doesn't appear to be designed for 'fair', 'respectful' treatment
Trump tweets about 9/11, Russia investigation as he heads to Flight 93 memorial event
President Trump is tweeting about 9/11 and the investigation into possible collusion between his campaign and Russia as he heads to a Flight 93 memorial event.
The president kicked off the morning with a post apparently quoting a Fox Business Network segment saying there is "nothing to show collusion between President Trump & Russia."
"'We have found nothing to show collusion between President Trump & Russia, absolutely zero, but every day we get more documentation showing collusion between the FBI & DOJ, the Hillary campaign, foreign spies & Russians, incredible,'" Trump tweeted, tagging Fox contributor Sara Carter and Fox Business host Lou Dobbs.
The president has frequently denied any collusion between his campaign and Russia's efforts to interference in the 2016 presidential election. He has also maintained that the special counsel's investigation is a "witch hunt."
Trump then retweeted a post by White House social media director Dan Scavino Jr., who posted a photo of the president signing a proclamation that designates Sept. 11, 2001, "Patriot Day 2018" in honor of "the nearly 3,000 lives lost."
"#Neverforget," Trump wrote in the retweet.
Trump then returned to quoting Fox News, claiming the texts between former FBI agent Peter Strzok and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page were part of a "media leak strategy."
"So terrible, and NOTHING is being done at DOJ or FBI - but the world is watching, and they get it completely," Trump tweeted.
Carter on Monday posted an article claiming FBI and Justice Department officials leaked information to the media in order to harm Trump, an allegation based on a letter from Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
Meadows is alleging that the texts between Strzok and Page might have been leaked to the media as part of an intentional strategy to damage the president's administration.
Trump on Tuesday will be attending a Flight 93 memorial event in Pennsylvania commemorating the lives lost on 9/11.
