The protester had the words “fake peacemaker” written on her chest, and she was stopped by French police after running into the street.


The woman came within a few meters of the motorcade, according to Reuters. Trump was in Paris for an Armistice Day remembrance ceremony, during which French President Emmanuel Macron delivered a harsh rebuke of nationalism.

The international feminist protest group Femen has claimed responsibility for the act. Protesters from the group have protested Trump in the past, as well as Russian President Vladimir Putin, authoritarianism and far-right politics.

Other photos show Femen protesters with the phrase "Fake peacemakers, real dictators" painted on their chests and carrying signs reading "Welcome war criminals," greeting world leaders as they arrived in the city on Saturday for Armistice Day remembrance ceremonies.
