President Trump said Thursday he will “probably” meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin at this weekend’s Group of 20 summit, despite growing tensions over Ukraine.

Trump previously floated the prospect of cancelling the meeting, but said he will likely go ahead with the planned sit-down.

{mosads}”I probably will be meeting with President Putin,” Trump told reporters before leaving for the summit. “I think it’s a very good time to have the meeting.”

Trump’s comments come after the Kremlin announced the two leaders would meet on Saturday morning at the summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The White House has not confirmed the timing of the meeting.

The president said will be getting a “full report” on naval skirmishes between Russia and Ukraine  on Air Force One on the way to Argentina “and that will determine what I am doing.”

The Trump-Putin meeting is one of the most closely watched events at the international summit. Their previous sit-down in Helsinki last summer was widely panned by U.S. lawmakers for the president’s refusal to publicly confront the Russian leader over Moscow’s election meddling in 2016.
