Vice President Pence will give a commencement speech at Liberty University, he announced Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
"I want to give a shoutout to all those great conservatives watching across the country, especially all of our friends joining us live from Lynchburg, Va., at Liberty University. I'll see you in May," he said.
The private, Christian university acknowledged the remark, tweeting "Thanks for the shoutout, @VP."
A crowd of students can be seen cheering the vice president's news.
CPAC is an annual conservative conference that features prominent speakers and panels. A number of conservative university students attend the conference.
Liberty University is known for embracing conservative policies.
In 2015, the university began allowing its students to have guns in residence halls.
