Conway said in a tweet Wednesday that Trump's criticism of him seemed to prove his point that the president has narcissistic personality disorder.

"You. Are. Nuts." he said in a separate tweet.

Brennan has repeatedly criticized Trump and the GOP over the past two years. He said in December that he hoped the "forthcoming exposure of [Trump's] malfeasance and corruption will convince enough Republicans to abandon" him.

Trump, meanwhile, has derided the Mueller probe as a "witch hunt."
