Diplomats describe all-time low in morale at State under Trump
Trump: 'So sad' Democrats are putting Hope Hicks 'through hell'
President Trump on Wednesday continued to ridicule Democrats for calling his longtime former aide Hope Hicks to testify in a closed-door meeting with the House Judiciary Committee.
"So sad that the Democrats are putting wonderful Hope Hicks through hell, for 3 years now, after total exoneration by Robert Mueller & the Mueller Report," Trump tweeted Wednesday afternoon.
"They were unhappy with result so they want a Do Over. Very unfair & costly to her. Will it ever end?" he added.
Trump also renewed his claims of a "rigged" system that he said failed to properly investigate former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's email scandal.
Trump also lashed out at House Democrats earlier Wednesday in a similar string of tweets.
Hicks, Trump's former communications director, declined to answer questions about her time in the Trump administration during the hearing.
Hicks was mentioned more than 180 times in special counsel Robert Muller's report and is seen as a key witness in the investigation into Trump's potential obstruction of justice.
The special counsel's report does not exonerate Trump.
In a May news conference, Mueller said, "If we had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so."
