Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said the chants of "send her back" at President Trump's Wednesday night rally indicate a danger "to all Americans."

"This is the sound of illberalism, intolerance. Listen closely: it's a danger not just to immigrants and minorities but to all Americans," Greenblatt tweeted Thursday, with a clip of the rally chant.

The North Carolina crowd broke out into the chant after Trump renewed an attack on Rep. It followed days of Trump defending his tweets targeting Democratic Reps. Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Ayanna Pressley (Mass.) and Rashida Tlaib (Mich.).

Trump told the representatives to "go back" to where they came from, a message widely denounced by Democrats and a few Republicans as racist.

All four of the freshmen representatives are women of color. Only Omar was born outside of the U.S.

The "send her back" chant set off a new round of backlash against the president for stoking racial division in America.
