Trump made the comments to reporters when asked in the Oval Office about an upcoming trip to Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J.

"It's never a vacation," Trump told reporters of going to the resort, adding that he would rather be at the White House.

He said that while he is away, he has maintenance work done.

"The Obama administration worked out a brand new air conditioning system for the West Wing. It was so good before they did the system. Now that they did this system, it’s freezing or hot,” Trump said.

During the appearance with reporters, Trump also hit Democratic investigations into his administration, suggesting they instead probe Obama and his book deal with Penguin Random House.

"They could look into the book deal that President Obama made. Let’s subpoena all of his records," Trump said.

Trump most recently visited his Bedminster resort last weekend, where he crashed a MAGA-themed wedding, prompting chants of "USA! USA!" to break out.
