{mosads}The Department of Justice announced Monday that Ahmed Mahad Mohamed, 21, and Abdi Yemani Hussein, 20, who were living in the United States, were arrested at Tucson International Airport on charges of attempting to provide material support to ISIS.
They were arrested July 26 after they communicated with an undercover FBI agent and expressed a desire to travel overseas and fight on behalf of the terrorist group, according to the Justice Department. The two eventually bought plane tickets to Egypt, intending to continue to Sinai and join ISIS, the FBI said.
During one conversation with the undercover agents, Mohamed reportedly said “the best wake-up call is Islamic State to get another victory or another 9/11,” according to the Arizona Republic.
