Former chief White House strategist Stephen Bannon told Fox Business Network Thursday that President TrumpDonald John TrumpSchiff blasts Trump for making 'false claims' about Russia intel: 'You've betrayed America. “It's important for the history, the country ... it's important for the people that voted for President Trump, they believe in him," Bannon said. "He didn't do anything wrong.”

He added: "He'll be exonerated by the Senate in front of the American people and the world. And then in November, he'll be vindicated at the ballot box.”

The former Trump adviser also said that Democrats hate Trump because he poses an “existential threat to the Democratic Party."

On Wednesday, the House, largely along party lines, passed two articles of impeachment against the president. An impeachment trial will now be held in the Senate sometime after the chamber reconvenes in January.
