The White House typically does not disclose the president's activities while he visits his golf clubs, and the press office did not do so on Sunday. Trump has been staying at his Mar-a-Lago estate since Friday, and will return to Washington, D.C., on Monday.

The Nationals won the World Series last year, defeating the Houston Astros in seven games. Trump attended Game 5 at Nationals Park, where he was vociferously booed by fans when he was shown on the video screen.

Most of the team made the trip to the White House for a celebratory visit in November. Suzuki donned a "Make America Great Again" hat and received a bear hug from the president as he stepped up to speak.

Zimmerman thanked Trump for inviting him, for keeping the country safe and for “continuing to make America the greatest country to live in the world.” The first baseman presented Trump with a personalized Nationals jersey, with the number 45 on the back.
