Trump Golf tweeted a video on April 9 of Daly telling viewers to “be healthy and be smart” before they can resume golfing, Golfweek first reported on Sunday.

“But I kind of got a cure for this,” Daly deadpanned. “I only drink one drink a day — it just happens to be a bottle — of good old Belvedere.”

“You know, you just drink one of these a day. You know, sippy sippy on a little McDonald’s Diet Coke. You know, wash it down pretty good. Never have a hangover,” he added. “And that’s the way you kill this coronavirus, I believe.”

Public health experts have said drinking alcohol does not protect people from the virus and that heavy consumption could weaken the immune system.

“Consuming alcohol will not destroy the virus, and its consumption is likely to increase the health risks if a person becomes infected with the virus,” a World Health Organization fact sheet says.

The Trump Organization did not immediately return a request for comment.

Many of the company’s golf courses are closed during the coronavirus pandemic, with a few exceptions in Virginia and New York.

The company's Twitter account has been posting videos of pro golfers at home calling Trump’s courses their “home away from home.” Trump Golf has posted other messages encouraging followers to “stay healthy and safe” during the deadly outbreak.

“On behalf of the entire team at Trump Golf, we hope you and your families stay healthy and safe during these uncertain times,” the company tweeted last month. “Our community is unshakable, our teams are vigilant and we live in the greatest nation on earth. We will overcome!”
