The Hill's 2016 presidential endorsement list

Democrats on Capitol Hill rushed to endorse Hillary ClintonHillary Diane Rodham ClintonPoll: Majority of Democratic voters happy with their choices among 2020 contenders No presidential candidate can unite the country GOP lawmakers speak out against 'send her back' chants MORE for president, while Republicans were split among a crowded 2016 primary field.

ADVERTISEMENT
Presidential endorsements are important in many ways. They give White House hopefuls grassroots support and political momentum. Support from lawmakers in the early-voting states is especially crucial.

The Hill will update this list of publicly committed backers throughout the 2016 race for the White House.
