Wagner holds off Democrat to secure fourth House term in Missouri

Wagner's race was considered competitive by The Cook Political Report, though it gave her the advantage.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee added the district to its "red to blue" list, meaning Democrats thought it could be flipped. 

But Missouri is a red state that Trump won by nearly 20 points in 2016. In Wagner's district, Trump won by 10. 

Wagner has a long history in Missouri, where she served in local government and chaired the state's Republican party in the 2000s.
