Long-time Pelosi chief of staff steps down

“Terri has been particularly focused on advancing opportunity for women,” Pelosi said in a statement. “I am so pleased that this new leadership role will allow her to continue and expand upon those important efforts.”

To replace McCullough, Pelosi has appointed Catlin O’Neill, the granddaughter of former House Speaker Tip O'Neill (D-Mass.) and a nine-year veteran of Pelosi's team. O'Neill currently serves as deputy director of floor operations in Pelosi's leadership office.

Pelosi described O'Neill Tuesday as a political mastermind “with public service in her DNA.”

“Catlin’s sharp instinct, steadfast determination, and impressive knowledge have been integral in advancing House Democrats’ legislative agenda through the years,” Pelosi said. “I know my constituents will benefit from her talent and leadership.”
