Conservative GOP rep has 'big concerns' with Speaker Ryan

“Do I think the Speaker has problems? Yes I do, particularly now as we head into this big immigration debate,” Jordan told “Fox News Sunday.”


Jordan, a founder of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, criticized Ryan for presiding over the House’s passage of recent legislation to increase spending.

But Jordan refused to concede that it’s time for a new Speaker.

“We’ll have that debate at the appropriate time. You asked me if there’s concerns with the Speaker,” Jordan told host Chris Wallace. “I think there are big concerns because he just presided over one of the biggest spending increases in the history of the country at a time when we were elected to do just the opposite.”

Jordan also argued border security must come before a legislative fix for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, a recent point of contention between Republicans and Democrats.
