Jayapal shared a photo of the note, dated Sept. 21, that wishes a happy birthday to “Congressman Jayapal.”

“Melania and I send our best wishes for your year ahead,” the letter reads, signed by the president.

Jayapal called it a “nice” note but pointed out that her title is “CongressWOMAN."

She said that her birthday wish is "for Democrats to take back Congress."

“My birthday wish is for Democrats to take back Congress and address the #CultureofCorruption and horrible policies hurting Americans pouring out of the White House,” Jayapal added.

Jayapal, the first Indian-American woman elected to Congress, has readily shared stories about her struggles with racism and sexism while in office.

The congresswoman in May shared via Twitter an appearance on C-SPAN where a caller questioned her citizenship.

A historic 100 women could be elected to the House during November’s midterm elections. That would mark the largest total number of women ever elected to Congress.
