Florida Dem lawmaker praises retiring GOP colleague: I will 'truly miss' her

Wilson also wrote in her Twitter message that it was an "honor" to work with Ros-Lehtinen on "issues that benefit our great state."


"I will truly miss @RosLehtinen next year. She has spent her life serving South Florida as a teacher, state legislator and congresswoman. It has been an honor to work with her on issues that benefit our great state," Wilson tweeted.

Ros-Lehtinen announced last year that she would retire at the end of her term after almost 30 years serving in the House.

In response to Wilson's tweet, Ros-Lehtinen wrote on Twitter that she was "proud to have served with you for so many years."

"Proud to have served with you for so many years amiga, @RepWilson. I know you’ll continue to inspire & strengthen our #SoFla community and lead the effort to #BringBackOurGirls," she tweeted.
