Ousted GOP lawmaker David Brat named dean at Liberty University business school

Outgoing Rep. Dave Brat (R-Va.), who lost his reelection bid in November, took over Tuesday as the dean of Liberty University's School of Business, the school announced.

“Dave’s experience in the private business sector, in higher education, and most recently as a U.S. Congressman, offer a unique blend of applied experience that brings additional value and depth to our business faculty," Liberty interim Provost Scott Hicks said in a statement.

The district contains some Richmond suburbs and parts of rural central Virginia.

Prior to his time in Congress, Brat taught and chaired the economics and business department at Randolph-Macon College in Virginia.
