Omar: 'Stephen Miller is a white nationalist'

"Stephen Miller is a white nationalist. The fact that he still has influence on policy and political appointments is an outrage," Omar tweeted.

Omar's tweet linked to a Splinter story noting a CNN report that Miller lobbied President TrumpDonald John TrumpUPS, FedEx shut down calls to handle mail-in ballots, warn of 'significant' problems: report Controversial GOP Georgia candidate attempts to distance from QAnon Trump orders TikTok parent company to sell US assets within 90 days MORE to withdraw his nomination of Ron Vitiello to lead Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Miller reportedly said he didn't support the appointment because Vitiello, who was named acting head of ICE last year, wasn't fully in favor of shuttering the border.

Trump previously nominated Vitiello, but the White House on Friday sent paperwork to Congress withdrawing the nomination. Trump told reporters that he was "going in a tougher direction."

"We’re going in a little different direction," Trump said Friday. "Ron’s a good man, but we’re going in a tougher direction."
