Americans' interest in impeachment has dropped off: analysis

The news outlet, citing data it analyzed from NewsWhip, noted that the 10 biggest impeachment stories, as defined by how many user interactions such has likes, comments and shares they generated, were all published before Nov. 15. 

Only four of the top 30 stories in terms of user interactions were published after Nov. 15, it added.  


Axios noted that the public may have had more interest in the early months of the impeachment process as the evidence was collected and reported. But once the debate shifted to whether Trump’s actions were impeachable, people were not as emotionally attached, it added.

This could also reinforce the polarization in the country as people made up their minds once all of the information on what happened between Trump and Ukraine emerged, according to the news outlet.

The data analyzed by Axios was collected weekly since Sept. 14.
