READ: House impeachment managers’ trial brief
The House impeachment managers on Saturday filed a more than 100-page brief ahead of the impeachment trial of President Trump that commences in earnest next Tuesday.
The House on Wednesday voted largely along party lines to send the impeachment proceedings to the Senate, where Trump will face trial for two charges — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has selected seven House Democrats as impeachment managers who will act as prosecutors and present their case to the Senate jury.
The impeachment managers, led by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), transmitted the articles of impeachment to the Senate on Thursday, with Schiff reading out the articles on the Senate floor.
