Kinzinger backs Cheney on criticism of Republican Party

Kinzinger responded to a statement from Cheney’s communications director Jeremy Alder about the current state of the GOP, in which Alder said that the party will still continue to push their lies of regarding the 2020 election. Alder also said the party is attempting to whitewash what happened during the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol, but "Liz will not do that."

“100 percent. This IS THE ISSUE,” Kinzinger wrote in his post.

He also showed support for Kinzinger, Cheney and Sen. Kinzinger's support also comes as top allies of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthyKevin McCarthyHouse fails to pass drug bill amid Jan. 6 tensions READ: Liz Cheney's speech on the House floor Cheney in defiant floor speech: Trump on 'crusade to undermine our democracy' MORE (R-Calif.) are vowing to oust Cheney, the No. 3 Republican, from her seat after her criticism of the former president. 

Cheney is one of the 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Trump after the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol, where pro-Trump supporters stormed the building.
