Fox Business has re-signed Charles Payne to a multi-year contract, the network announced Wednesday morning.

Payne, 56, is the host of "Making Money" on Fox Business, which airs at 6 p.m. ET.

“I am proud to be a part of the best lineup in business television, and excited to continue helping to empower all Americans take control of their financial destiny and identify money-making opportunities in this incredible time of economic growth,” he said in a statement.

Payne joined Fox Business in 2007 as a contributor to primarily provide market commentary. His frequent guest appearances led to him getting his own program, "Making Money," in 2014.

"Charles’s ability to identify news-driven investment opportunities has made his show appointment viewing for the business audience," said Brian Jones, president of Fox Business. "We’re thrilled to have him continue in his role as host of ‘Making Money,’ which is the number one program in its timeslot.”

Payne's program has beaten CNBC's "Mad Money" in total viewers for 15 consecutive weeks and has seen double-digit increases in the 25-54 demographic advertisers covet most when compared to numbers at this time in 2016.

Payne began his Wall Street career as an analyst at E.F. Hutton in 1985.

Fox News and Fox Business have re-signed several key hosts recently, including announcements of re-signings of "The Specialists" host Eric Bolling and "The Story" host Martha MacCallum in recent days.

The contracts come after the departures of hosts Bill O'Reilly, Megyn Kelly and Greta Van Susteren over the course of the past eight months.
