CNN announced Wednesday it will launch a new multiplatform brand featuring politics editor-at-large Chris Cillizza to capture "analysis of the day’s news from one of the top political journalists in the country."
The multiplatform brand, called "The Point with Chris Cillizza" will include "daily columns, on-air analysis, an evening newsletter, podcast, and the launch of trivia night events in Washington, DC," according to a network release.
Cillizza will also anchor a new audio politics briefing on weekdays.
The 41-year-old Georgetown graduate is a former Washington Post columnist and MSNBC contributor.
Cillizza joined CNN in April after 12 years with the Post.
CNN President Jeff Zucker has dedicated significant resources to CNN's digital offerings since joining the network in 2013.
CNN.com had 93 million unique visitors in April, topping all other news outlets while maintaining its No. 1 ranking for all news sites.
Yahoo News had 86 million uniques to finish second, with Buzzfeed.com, HuffingtonPost.com and The New York Times' web site rounding out the top five, according to comScore.
