CNN says it won't try to hire ousted White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci, a company spokesman told Buzzfeed on Monday afternoon.

Scaramucci has experience in cable news, having hosted "Wall Street Week" on Fox Business and serving as a contributor on Fox News.

President Trump removed the 53-year-old Scaramucci as communications director on Monday afternoon.

The former hedge fund manager and cable business news host was ousted on the same day that Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly assumed his new role as Trump’s chief of staff.

Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement that Scaramucci felt it was best to give chief of staff John Kelly "a clean slate and the ability to build his own team.”

The Hill has reached out to Fox News and MSNBC for comment about a possible future relationship with Scaramucci.

CNN made a similar declaration when White House press secretary Sean Spicer resigned after Scaramucci was hired as communications director 10 days ago, saying it was not interested in bringing him aboard.

Trump and members of his administration have attacked the media, often targeting CNN as “fake news” and complaining about its coverage of the White House.
