Lou Dobbs slams ‘RINO Ryan’: Trump ‘booted hapless fool' out of the way

Fox Business's Lou Dobbs on Wednesday slammed Speaker Paul RyanPaul Davis RyanBoehner book jacket teases slams against Cruz, Trump CPAC, all-in for Trump, is not what it used to be Cruz hires Trump campaign press aide as communications director MORE (R-Wis.) for his “unbridled hostility towards President Trump,” calling the Speaker a “RINO” after the negotiations to raise the debt ceiling and fund the government.

“The president not only took RINO Ryan to the woodshed but eliminated any need for any Republican to ever pretend again that Ryan is a real Republican in any way or that any RINO has a political future after Mr. Trump simply booted the hapless fool of a Speaker out of the way of those trying to get the nation’s business done,” Dobbs said, using an acronym for "Republican in name only."

Dobbs showed a clip of Ryan calling it “a ridiculous idea” to tie aid for Hurricane Harvey to raising the debt ceiling.

Dobbs’s monologue came after Trump on Wednesday struck a deal with Democrats to fund the government for three months, raise the debt ceiling and provide aid to areas affected by Harvey, a move that shocked Republicans did not want Harvey aid tied to the debt ceiling.

“Contrast Ryan’s inane insults, his obstinance and subversion of President Trump to the behavior and rhetoric of Democratic leadership of late,” Dobbs said. “They’ve calmed themselves. They’ve been far more conciliatory in their rhetoric over recent weekends and now Ryan is fully exposed to the nation.”

Dobbs said Ryan’s Congress had accomplished “next to nothing.”

The television host has provided Trump with a positive review since he took office, saying last month that the president is “pretty close to perfect.”
