BuzzFeed is taking heat on social media after publishing a story titled "37 things white people ruined need to stop ruining in 2018" on Wednesday afternoon.

Included on the list is the argument that white people ruined the United States by voting for Donald TrumpDonald John TrumpKey takeaways from the Arizona Senate debate Major Hollywood talent firm considering rejecting Saudi investment money: report Mattis says he thought 'nothing at all' about Trump saying he may leave administration MORE over Hillary ClintonHillary Diane Rodham ClintonCarter Page files defamation lawsuit against DNC Dems fear party is headed to gutter from Avenatti’s sledgehammer approach Election Countdown: Cruz, O'Rourke fight at pivotal point | Ryan hitting the trail for vulnerable Republicans | Poll shows Biden leading Dem 2020 field | Arizona Senate debate tonight MORE by a 58-37 percent margin.

Other items on Buzzfeed's list include macaroni and cheese, protests and the national anthem.

The blowback from some conservative media members on social media was swift.

Buzzfeed has published similar content in the past, including a list about slideshows which included images of students in front of slides with titles such as "White People Stay Colonizing” and “White People are a Plague to the Planet."

BuzzFeed could also be facing a major revenue shortfall.

The Wall Street Journal reported last month that the online publication is "on track to miss its revenue target for this year by a significant amount."

BuzzFeed will miss its revenue target of $350 million for 2017 by between 15 and 20 percent, which amounts to a $50 million to $70 million shortfall, according to the report.

The major miss makes the possibility of a public stock offering originally planned for 2018 "remote," sources told The Wall Street Journal.
