TV Newser reported that Maddow garnered roughly 3.3 million viewers for her Wednesday show. Hannity, meanwhile, attracted slightly more than 3 million.

Shortly before Hannity’s show began on Wednesday night, Trump urged his followers to tune in.

“Big show tonight on @seanhannity!” he tweeted.

Hannity is an ally of the president and reportedly dined with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort late last month.

Trump has in recent days renewed his attacks on the special counsel investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. He was enraged by federal agents raiding the office, residence and hotel room of his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen.

Those agents were acting on search warrants that federal prosecutors obtained "in part" because of a referral from Mueller's office.

Trump called the raid a "disgrace," and labeled the broader Mueller probe a "witch hunt."
