Ruhle stood by her NBC News team’s reporting on Tuesday, saying “this is not a false story.”

To back up her point, Ruhle rounded up other reports of Trump officials insulting the president.

“John Kelly is not the first member of the Trump administration to call the president names,” she said.

NBC News reported last that October Former Secretary of State Rex TillersonRex Wayne TillersonPresident Trump: To know him is to 'No' him Ocasio-Cortez, progressives call on Senate not to confirm lobbyists or executives to future administration posts Gary Cohn: 'I haven't made up my mind' on vote for president in November MORE called Trump a “moron.”

And former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson reportedly called Trump a "moron" after a meeting at the Pentagon last year.

While the White House and the officials have denied the claims, there is a pattern of senior officials insulting the president, Ruhle said.
