Cavuto reads hate mail he got for criticizing Trump-Putin summit

Fox Business Network host Neil Cavuto spent a segment of his show reading aloud hate mail he received for criticizing President Trump’s handling of a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Cavuto, who called Trump’s refusal to confront Putin over election interference “disgusting,” was out on Tuesday but returned on Wednesday and dedicated a nearly 10-minute-long segment of his show to sharing the messages.

“OK, I think a lot of you are still mad at me, and I’ve got to tell you, I feel vulnerable coming in today,” Cavuto said on “Your World with Cavuto.” “Let’s just say apparently I was not missed.”

“So they finally fired your fat ass,” one viewer’s email read.

“The Chubby Chunk’s been chucked!!! Yippee!! No more negative Trump-bashing from this broadcast fake with the fake hair and the fat neck!!!” another viewer wrote. “Use the time off to atone for your sins and maybe eat a salad!”

“Hurtful, Alexis,” Cavuto replied. “As I told you before, the camera adds 50 pounds.”

“Look up ‘disgusting in the dictionary and there’s a picture of you!!’ ” another viewer said.

The host aired his original comments critical of Trump, standing by them despite the scorn.

“I’m sorry, it’s the only way I feel. It’s not a right or left thing to me, it’s just wrong,” Cavuto had said on Monday. “A U.S. president on foreign soil talking to our biggest enemy or adversary or competitor … is essentially letting the guy get away with this, and not even offering a mild criticism. That sets us back a lot.”
