Fox News’s Bret Baier: I think Trump likes our opinion shows better than news shows

Fox News anchor Bret Baier said that he believes President Trump prefers the network’s opinion programming to its news shows.

Baier told Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday that he knows the president watches his news show “because we’ll have a panel discussion and it’ll be on a topic and suddenly a tweet will come out about that topic.”

{mosads}“Obviously I think he likes the opinion shows a little bit better than the news shows on Fox, but he definitely watches,” the host added.

Baier said that some of the biggest critics of Fox News are people who haven’t watched the network’s news programming.

“We’re one team, we’re one company,” he said. “We’re two different businesses entirely.”

Trump is known to be a frequent viewer of Fox News, citing network host Sean Hannity by name at a rally on Thursday night.

Baier also said that it was a “no-brainer” for him to defend CNN after the White House banned network reporter Kaitlan Collins from an event after she repeatedly asked questions of Trump.

“As a member of the White House press pool, Fox stands firmly with CNN on this issue of access,” Baier said on his show at the time.

“I’m on the news side of the house and you have to stand for access. This was a credentialed person,” he told Kimmel.
