Shapiro responds to Ocasio-Cortez: I’ve 'never catcalled a woman' in my life

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro said that he has “never catcalled a woman in his life” after Democratic House candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez compared his recent debate challenge to a catcall.

Shapiro, who had offered to donate $10,000 to the democratic socialist's campaign if she held a debate with him, wrote in a pair of tweets late Thursday that Ocasio-Cortez was “slandering” him as “a sexist catcaller without reason or evidence” after she made the comparison.

“But sure, go with ‘the Orthodox Jew who has never catcalled a woman in his life is ACKSHUALLY a sexist catcaller for asking for a discussion or debate.’ I’m sure your media sycophants will eat it up,” the conservative commentator wrote.

Ocasio-Cortez had responded to Shapiro’s offer by saying she doesn’t “owe a response to unsolicited requests from men with bad intentions.”

Ocasio-Cortez made national headlines with her upset victory over long-time Rep. Joseph Crowley in the Democratic primary for New York's 14th Congressional District in June.

Shapiro made the challenge during a segment on "The Ben Shapiro Show” on Wednesday.

“You’ve noted that you think Republicans are afraid to debate you or talk to you or discuss the issues with you. Not only am I eager to discuss the issues with you, I’m willing to offer $10,000 to your campaign today for you to come on our Sunday special," Shapiro said on the show.
