Outgoing Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel (D) is reportedly shopping his services as a cable news pundit to executives at MSNBC and CNN.

Several sources told the Daily Beast that Emanuel, who won't seek a third term with approval ratings mired mostly in the low 30s, has met recently with top executives at the two cable news networks in New York.

The Hill has reached out to MSNBC and CNN for comment.

Emanuel, 58, was also former President Obama's chief of staff after chairing the House Democratic Caucus.

He will be represented by William Morris Endeavor, where his brother Ari Emanuel serves as co-CEO. The powerful and ruthless "Entourage" talent agent on HBO was based on Ari Emanuel. The Emanuels' other brother, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, signed with Fox News in 2017 as a contributor and is best known as an architect of the Affordable Care Act.

Rahm Emanuel appeared on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" last Sunday and enjoyed a good rapport with a current contributor, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R).

“We agree again, don’t we, Rahm?" Christie said at one point.

“Don’t tell my mother," Emanuel replied.

Emanuel and Christie also cautioned Democrats about overplaying their hand in launching too many investigations into President TrumpDonald John TrumpREAD: Transcript of James Comey's interview with House Republicans Klobuchar on 2020: ‘I do think you want voices from the Midwest’ Israel boycott fight roils Democrats in year-end spending debate MORE, noting the move may turn the president into a martyr.

“You can look into Trump, but if I were in those investigative and oversight committees, I would look out for America — that would be my guiding light,” Emanuel said. “I’d haul in all the pharmaceutical executives and talk about pricing and collusion there. I would actually deal with the antitrust elements that Congress can do. I would not make Trump the total focus.”

Christie again agreed with the mayor.

“By the way, I agree with Rahm on this, and we’re going to see how smart the Democrats are in having this new bit of authority. Because I guarantee you if they decide to make this about the president — that is what the president is dreaming about," Christie replied. "If they give Donald Trump the opportunity to look like a martyr — he’s going to take it."
