Joy Behar responds to Kid Rock insult by inviting him on 'The View'

Joy Behar slapped back at Kid Rock for calling her a "bitch" on "Fox & Friends" on Friday morning, saying she and the other “bitches” on “The View” would be happy to have him on.

The retort comes after Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, took aim at political correctness during a Friday morning interview.

“People need to calm down, get a little less politically correct and love everybody,” he said. “Except, I would say, screw that Joy Behar bitch.”

Behar responded at the top of her ABC program with an invitation.

“This bitch, and these bitches, would be happy to have you on the show and have a beer,” Behar declared.

“I’m a comedian on a show. Why doesn’t he go after the big shots?” she continued. “You know what’s great? Fox had to apologize for something.”

Behar, 76, celebrated her 20th anniversary on the roundtable opinion show on Thursday.

Earlier Friday, Kid Rock appeared at a Nashville bar, where he did an interview with "Fox & Friends" co-host Steve Doocy.

“We can disagree and still be cordial with one another. You know, just talk about things without going for each other’s throats,” said Kid Rock, a staunch supporter of President TrumpDonald John TrumpRepublicans aim to avoid war with White House over impeachment strategy New York Times editorial board calls for Trump's impeachment Trump rips Michigan Rep. Doocy jumped in to admonish the musician once his point turned into the attack on Behar.

“You cannot say that ... she’s just got a different point of view than you do.”

After Kid Rock insisted he was joking, Doocy pressed for an apology.

“You apologize for that language, right?” the host asked.

Kid Rock conceded that he apologized for the language, but “not the sentiment.”

Doocy, however, told viewers that Fox News apologizes “for both.”

Back in the “Fox & Friends” studio, co-host Ainsley Earhardt added, “We do need to apologize. We don’t feel that way about Joy Behar; we don’t condone that language.”

Later Friday, Nashville Mayor David Briley (D) declared he would not take part in the city's Christmas parade if Kid Rock stays on in his planned role as grand marshal.

Kid Rock has not responded to Behar's invitation as of early Friday afternoon.
