Megyn Kelly rips Seth Meyers for tweet mocking murdered Americans: 'That’s hysterical to the families'

Former NBC host Megyn Kelly ripped Seth Meyers for a tweet sent from his late-night program's official account mocking President TrumpDonald John TrumpOvernight Health Care: Dem chair plans hearing on Medicare for all | Senate GOP talks drug prices with Trump health chief | PhRMA CEO hopeful Trump reverses course on controversial pricing proposal Centrist efforts to convince Trump to end shutdown falter Cardi B expresses solidarity with federal workers not getting paid MORE's border wall address and broaching the victims of murders committed by those in the country illegally.

"Is this Oval Office: SVU?" the Meyers account asked, alluding to the television show "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," after the president mentioned several cases during his nationally televised address.


As of 7 a.m. Wednesday, the Meyers tweet had received more than 4,500 replies but just 167 retweets, with almost all of the responses condemning the joke.

"I’m sure that’s hysterical to the families of the murder victims the president just discussed," wrote Kelly, who co-moderated the first GOP debate in August 2015 and was on the receiving end of Trump's attacks for months afterward.

NBC's Meyers, a former "Weekend Update" anchor on "Saturday Night Live," is often critical of the president on his program, most recently arguing that his network and others should not air Trump's prime-time address to "repeat his lies."
