Former Fox News and ABC News executive and producer Michael Clemente will be stepping down as Newsmax TV CEO after more than one year on the job, according to a Monday report.

Mediaite first reported that Clemente is "in the process of moving to a consultancy role" at Newsmax TV, a largely pro-Trump network which has struggled from a ratings perspective despite being in 70 million homes.

"I currently remain CEO of Newsmax TV. For a number of reasons unrelated to the company, I’m in the process of moving to a consultancy role. I remain strongly committed to the company and its prospects," Clemente told Mediaite while also noting the change in role was a "mutual decision."

Clemente joined Fox News in 2009 after 27 years at ABC News, where he served as senior vice president of news-editorial and as Peter Jennings's producer on "World News Tonight." He also served as an executive producer at CNN for a two-year stint.
An announcement about Clemente's replacement has not been made.
