HBO announced late Monday that CNN host Lisa Ling will produce a new streaming show for HBO Max with former CBS anchor Dan Rather.

Ling's HBO streaming travel show will be titled, "Birth, Wedding, Funeral."

“We are living in a deeply polarized world and I am elated for the opportunity to bring us closer to one another through stories about the most defining moments in people’s lives: their Births, Weddings and Funerals,” said Ling in the announcement.

Ling, a former co-host on ABC's "The View," has hosted her CNN weekend program “This is Life with Lisa Ling" since 2014. CNN, like HBO, is owned by WarnerMedia under the former Time Warner umbrella.

Rather, 87, was an award-winning anchor of the “CBS Evening News” from 1981 to 2005 before he was fired over a “60 Minutes” piece that used fake documents to call into question whether President George W. Bush fulfilled his National Guard duties during the Vietnam War. Rather has defended the foundation of the story to this day.

“Over the course of my many travels, I have always welcomed the chance to learn about the world’s varied cultures through how they experience life’s most intimate and transformative benchmarks,” added Rather. “I am thrilled that Lisa, a skilled and compassionate storyteller, will bring these moments into our homes and allow us to renew our faith in the common bonds of humanity.”
