The former vice president and Kimmel both wore baseball hats to mark what would have been the start of MLB's 2020 season.

“This is not the way to win votes, Mr. Vice President,” the Brooklyn-born Kimmel joked on his ABC show while wearing a New York Mets hat.

MLB has delayed the start of its season until at least June as the league continues to weigh several scenarios on how to move forward with months shaved off its traditional schedule.

Included in the options are seven-inning doubleheaders and expanding the postseason from 10 to 14 teams.

“It’s probably for the best," Kimmel said of the delay. "I don’t know that I could handle the coronavirus and the Mets at the same time."
